AZC reception sites
In addition to our other security services, KB Services & Services B.V. can also provide trained personnel for reception sites, including asylum seekers' centers (AZCs) and temporary shelters. Thanks to our experienced and dedicated team, we have successfully supported several reception locations in the past. In doing so, the work has always been managed with attention to safety, stability and humanity.
Security at an AZC requires a careful and specialized approach. It is not only about physical security, but also about understanding social, psychological and cultural dynamics within the shelter. People with diverse backgrounds, experiences and emotions come together at these locations. This requires security guards who can act professionally, calmly and respectfully.
The complexity of AZC security
An AZC is an environment where:
- Different cultures coming together
- Tensions can arise from stress, trauma or uncertainty
- Vulnerable individuals need protection
- Staff needs peace of mind and job security
- There is a lot of in and out daily
Security at these locations is therefore about finding the right balance between safety, humanity and structure.

Important aspects of AZC security
1. Access Control
Strict control of who enters and leaves the premises is essential for security. Our security guards provide an overview, register visitors and immediately signal abnormal situations.
2. Preventive observation
By actively observing and recognizing signals early, incidents can be prevented. Security guards pay attention to behavior, tension build-up and possible risk persons or moments.
3. Communication and emergency response
In an AZC, good communication is crucial. Security guards are in direct contact with staff, caregivers and counseling organizations. In emergency situations, they act quickly and professionally according to established protocols.
4. Aggression Control
AZCs can experience escalations due to stress, frustration or cultural differences. Our security guards are trained annually in de-escalation and aggression management to restore calm without unnecessary confrontations.
5. Awareness of cultural sensitivities
Respect, understanding and neutrality are essential. Security guards take into account cultural norms, religious sensitivities and different communication styles.
6. Cooperation with care and support organizations
An AZC only functions well with good cooperation between security guards, COA staff, healthcare professionals and supervisors. We always work integrally and in consultation with all parties involved.
7. 24/7 availability
Security is always a priority at shelter locations. That's why our security guards are on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, both day and night, to ensure peace, order and stability.
Support from the KB Intervention Team
At AZC sites where we work, our security guards can always fall back on the KB Intervention Team.
This team consists of specially trained security specialists who can be deployed quickly in threatening or escalating situations. This allows us to scale up immediately when the situation calls for it.
Purpose of security at an AZC site
The goal of AZC security is to create a:
- Safe living environment for residents
- Safe and stable working environment for staff
- Quiet and predictable atmosphere at the venue
- Clear structure and control
- Respectful interaction between all involved
This balanced approach ensures that both security and humanity remain central. Our security guards protect, guide and support - with professionalism and respect for every resident and staff member.
